Did you know? Voguing, which gained mainstream exposure through Malcolm McLaren or Madonna, owes a little of its fortune to France : since the late eighties, this underground movement born in the Harlem ballroom scene fascinated the very first missionaries of house music à la française, whether they’d be DJs, journalists or promoters. Around the world, most of the wonderful Queens of Vogue had a break through with their performances in music videos on MTV, but nowhere else other than in Paris did we take this New-York gay and multicultural counter-culture so seriously.

Artist PageAdam Beyer
Adam Beyer became dedicated to the fascinating world of rhythm early on. After playing the drums as a teenager his obsession turned to the decks. In 1990 he bought his first set of turntables and started spinning a wide range of hiphop, hiphouse, acid and techno at local parties and clubs. Beyer soon learned how to blend his sets in a thoughtfull and highly focused way, a talent that has now developed into his trademark style. In 92 Fellow school friend Peter Benisch introduced Beyer to the sampler, a year later they got their first record deal with New York based Direct Drive.
Adrian & Adrian, two guys from Zurich started off with music just like everyone else by trying several instruments and scratching on grandfather’s turntable, nothing special about that. Both were born in the mid 80’s when the techno and house community was rising tothe top. 90’s dance, hip-hop & house stuff influenced one of them. The other half was more into melodic sounds and Europe based techno. On the road as solo artists they met in 2008, found mutual connection with their interpretations and became dj & production partners.
Marc Martinez Nadal emerges with AFFKT, his stage name. Artist PageAgents of time
It all started in a store room, a drink and a bit of time.Three minds give life to the Agents of time. A real fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality.Together they develop a rare style characterized by particular and refined sounds, contaminated by their own electronic mood, a major common interest.A rather suggestive experience through which it`s easy to get carried away without noticing the uncontrollable time that flows and that doesn`t find obstacles in front of itself.

The deepest meaning of ‘collage’, defined by Max Ernst, is the general application of Arthur Rimabaud’s ‘delirium’: “I accustomed myself to simple hallucination; I saw quite deliberately a mosque instead of a factory,a drummer’s school conducted by angels, carriages on the highways of the sky, a salon at the bottom of a lake: monsters, mysteries, a vaudeville poster raising horrors before my eyes”. We could describe collage as an alchemic compound of two or more heterogeneous elements, derivate by their unexpected approximation generated deliberately by the search of systematic confusion and distorted perception.

Currently working out of Berlin, Kevin McHugh has spent the last decade living in the German capital or New York and in a sense; these two metropoleis represent the contradiction at the heart of his Ambivalent persona. On the one hand the reckless freedom and hedonism of the Berlin subculture, on the other the more considered, conceptual approach of its New York counterpart. As a result his idiosyncratic sound lies somewhere between the two, a precarious balancing act that manages to infuse stripped down, finked up minimal techno with a distinct sense of purpose, often defined by a pearl of an idea around which his skeletal grooves revolve.
