Growing up with two techno obsessed older brothers, Jasper Wolff has always been surrounded by music. When he started experimenting behind the turntables at the early age of 13, his natural talent for mixing was discovered. Soon he owned his own set of turntables and started spinning and collecting vinyl records. From that point on his life evolved around techno. From winning the Twstd DJ contest at the age of 17, to playing at parties and festivals like Awakenings, Rockit and Mysteryland, organizing parties with Onderstroom and finally producing his own music.

Jerome started mixing music. He cut and scratched all kinds of music together. At the age of 17 (after having been a bedroom/local dj for some years) he started to dj at the ‘Fresh to Impress’ hiphop nights at Paradiso Amsterdam and worked and played on many fashionshows in the Netherlands. With the appearance of house music his focus changed to this new energetic form of dance music. He then started his residency at Dwiezels in Haarlem where he dj-ed for more then three years.

Yet while his name is not immediately synonymous with techno like say Jeff Mills, those who have heard his productions or his live sets can attest to the quality and commitment displayed by this Swede.

Johanna Mercker

On the tender age of six, the parents of Johanna Mercker inspired here to take on piano lessons. After years of classical training Johanna discovered that electronic music, and especially ‘house’, caught her attention much longer then the weekly hours of piano study. She went on a expedition to discover this music to the fullest; trance, hardstyle, hardcore and techno. When Johanna went to Haarlem, in the North of Holland, she started building on a extensive network in the dance scene.

The initial spark for Heil’s career was his encounter with the „Kanzleramt“ in Bad Nauheim, a small techno-bistro launched by DJ Heiko Laux in the beginning of the 90s. Later on the label Kanzleramt was founded, plattform for Heil’s first productions. In 1998, he released „Paranoid Dancer“, taken from the album „Reality To MIDI“. It was a huge success and to this day is considered one of the early techno classics. In 1999 he produced another hit with „Calling“. His trademark in the early years was a hard and driving techno sound, making a big impact on dancefloors all over the world.

As the son of Eritrean refugees, Johannes Debese a.k.a. Johnny D. became acquainted with a wide array of music styles at an early age – from Tigrinya, the Eritrean music of his heritage, to hip-hop, funk and soul. During the breakbeat-craze in the Rhein-Neckar delta he first came into contact with electronic music at the age of thirteen, soon afterward deciding to take to the turn tables. His first electronic music sets at modest breakbeat events followed, and Johnny D. quickly developed into a versatile artist active in the Mannheim Collective.

This all happened shortly after Joran’s track ‘Untitled 2’ was signed to Minus12 and appeared on Richie Hawtin’s MixMag cover mount compilation.
